2024 Team 91 Boys Intro Academy

Who We Are: Developing great lacrosse players. It's what we do. As Charlotte's Leader in Lacrosse Instruction, we take pride in helping athletes become better lacrosse players. Our Team 91 Academy Training Programs and 10:1 Player:Coach Ratio creates the optimal balance of instruction, repetition and competition.

Defining the Intro Academy: Our Team 91 Charlotte Intro Academy program is a great way to introduce young athletes to the sport of lacrosse without having to dive into pads and full contact all at once. All you need is a stick, closed toed shoes and water to enjoy!

Over the course of the Intro Academy program, participants will begin to learn the fundamental skills required to play lacrosse such as throwing, catching, shooting, picking up ground balls and how to play defense. The program builds a baseline for players that may want to play in full bags at our Advanced Academy, in our Fall or Winter League or join the Ducks Rec league this Spring! The Intro Academy uses soft lacrosse balls, sticks but no pads and limits contact, similar to what you'd see on the soccer field or basketball court. We welcome boys and girls in grades K-5 to our Intro Academy Program!

What We'll Do This Fall: Over the course of our 6-week program, participants will learn the skills needed to pick up a ground ball, throw a pass to a teammate, catch a pass from a teammate, dodge, take a shot, play defense and more. All of this will be done without pads and without contact so players are in a fun, learning-friendly environment. From skills and drills to controlled live play, participants will have a great introduction to lacrosse after the Intro Academy program!
