2026 GIRLS DUCKS SPRING REC LACROSSE LEAGUE

Who We Are:
The Ducks Spring Rec Lacrosse League is Charlotte's largest Spring Rec League! The Ducks Youth Lacrosse League is open to girls in grades 1st-6th with no prior play experience required! If your player is a kindergartner that is interested in playing please email charlotte@team91lacrosse.com to discuss further.

Our season will run from late-February through early to mid-May with a built-in "off" period around the CMS spring break period.

The Ducks Youth Lacrosse League is operated and powered by Team 91 Charlotte Lacrosse, Charlotte's Leader in Lacrosse Instruction.

Defining the Ducks Youth Lacrosse League:
All players grades 1st through 6th grade are welcome to register for the Ducks; no prior playing experience is required.

We will create team rosters grouped by 1st/2nd, 3rd/4th and 5th/6th graders. Players will be evaluated during our opening week training period and properly rostered ahead of gameplay beginning. Teammate/schoolmate requests will be taken into account but the Ducks Spring Rec League will work to maintain the competitive balance of teams for internal league play purposes.

Our Spring Rec Philosophy:
Whether you are new to the game and stepping into pads for the first time or a player seeking the best Spring Rec League opportunities in Charlotte, Ducks Lacrosse is the training and competitive environment for you!

We believe our training tactics allow players interested in the sport to grow as a player consistently throughout the regular season. In welcoming both new and experienced player grades 1st-6th, every training and game day is meant to assist in the advancement of each player's skill progression!

Coaches will assist in the development of your player's individual talents and help them grasp a stronger understanding of team concepts. Over the course of the Spring players will experience the following:

Detailed Oriented Stickwork, Coaching Drills and Proper Contact Practices, A Full Regular Season Schedule and End of the Year Playoffs!

We will welcome opportunities to play against external competition but following multiple years of  successful internal league scheduling and playoffs, families will be able to expect a full schedule organized at the start of the 2026 season.

What to Expect This Spring: Please note the following is a SAMPLE SCHEDULE from 2025. Our 2026 information will be updated once registration goes live.

FUNdamentals Week - Our FUNdamentals are meant to gather all players, evaluate skills and implement the foundational points of lacrosse and the Ducks Spring Rec League. FUNdamentals Week allows our staffs to best prepare team rosters as well.

Our opening week will group all players by division (nearly 300 total in 2025!), provide players an opportunity to pickup practice and game gear as well as meet the coaches while running through a series of skills drills and live play.

Practices:
Practices will be held between 5:30pm-8:30pm primarily at the Mecklenburg Co. Sportsplex and additional field locations as they become available. Practices for 1st-4th grade teams are expected to end before 8:30pm if not earlier as the season progresses. Practices for 5th-6th grade teams may not end until 8:30pm but we will end earlier when possible.

1st-4th grade teams will practice 2x/week while 5th-6th grade teams will practice 2-3x/week.

Games:
All Ducks teams will play a full game schedule. Our internal league play allows for teams to play in a round robin format where each team will play their divisional opponents 2x/each. Any opportunities to add more games from there against external opponents will be scheduled in advance when possible and in some cases added during the season with advanced notice in order to provide players with more games!

Playoffs will conclude the 2026 Ducks Season.

Games may be played on some Friday evenings or weeknights as needed but a majority of games will be played on Saturdays and Sundays. Home games may be played at Matthews Sportsplex, William R. Davie Park, Chestnut Square Park, Revolution Park or other fields in the Charlotte area.

Away game locations and times will be determined by our opponents. Away games may also be as far as a 1.5hr radius from Charlotte in order to create a well rounded schedule for our teams this Spring.

Full Equipment Required:
This includes a lacrosse stick, goggles, cleats and a mouthguard.

2026 Ducks Gear:
All players receive a shirt, shorts, a jersey, Ducks accessories, etc.

Cost: Take off $25 when registering by Dec. 31st!
